Role Description

As a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Michael Page, you will:

  • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients by understanding their business priorities and requirements for contract, interim, and fractional talent.
  • Spot and develop new business opportunities driven by transformation initiatives, business growth, temporary leadership needs, leave cover, and specialist skills requirements.
  • Advise clients on recruitment solutions for time-bound assignments, interim appointments, and fractional roles that include an agreed portion of a professional’s working time.
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle, including client briefings, candidate sourcing and assessment, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and assignment follow-up.
  • Partner with clients to define assignment scope, required expertise, expected outcomes, duration, and working arrangements.
  • Grow networks of professionals interested in contract, interim, project-based, and fractional opportunities through direct sourcing, referrals, and market mapping.
  • Evaluate candidates against role requirements, focusing on relevant expertise, achievements, availability, and ability to deliver within the assignment scope.
  • Provide guidance to clients and candidates on talent availability, remuneration, assignment expectations, and recruitment processes.
  • Draft recruitment proposals and negotiate fees, assignment terms, and service agreements in line with company guidelines.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal teams to support engagement arrangements, onboarding, documentation, and assignment administration according to applicable requirements and company policies.
  • Keep regular contact with clients and placed professionals to support assignment delivery, resolve concerns, and discuss extensions or future opportunities.
  • Deepen your knowledge of flexible workforce models and market trends to enable informed client discussions.
  • Work closely with colleagues across teams and locations to support client opportunities, candidate referrals, and recruitment delivery.
  • Maintain precise recruitment records and treat client and candidate information confidentially.
  • Ensure fair recruitment practices, high service quality, and professional integrity throughout the recruitment process.

  • Interest in contract, interim, and fractional recruitment, along with a willingness to grow expertise in flexible talent solutions. Prior recruitment or workforce solutions experience is an advantage.
  • The ability to understand business challenges and convert them into clear hiring or assignment requirements.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to recognise opportunities, engage prospective clients, and expand existing accounts.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a consultative approach to understanding both client and candidate needs.
  • Excellent research and organisational capability, including the ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and onboarding requirements.
  • Responsiveness and strong judgement when handling time-sensitive needs and shifting assignment requirements.
  • High attention to detail when reviewing commercial terms, assignment documentation, and recruitment records.
  • A commitment to fair recruitment, confidentiality, and building trusted, long-term professional relationships.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment.
