Java developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in requirement gathering and create necessary technical and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect/Technical Lead to analyze and design code modifications based on finalized requirement specifications.
• Implement code alterations and conduct system testing in line with requirement specifications.
• Ensure that all work adheres to coding standards, security protocols, and corporate processes.
• Conduct quality assurance (QA) tasks, including unit testing, system testing, and code review.
• Support the Test Team during system integration testing and assist in troubleshooting reported issues.
• Provide assistance to both internal and external stakeholders throughout the testing process.
• Support customers during acceptance testing and post-implementation cutover.
• Contribute to the creation of training materials and lead presentations.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in backend development, delivering production-quality systems (including microservices, APIs, event processing, web portals, and production support).
• Extensive experience with AWS-native systems and operations, including any of the following:
• - API Gateway / ALB, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, WAF
• - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins / Bitbucket / Octopus / Terraform (or similar).
• Strong technical expertise with at least 5 years of practical experience in Java, J2EE, SQL/PLSQL, and XML.
• Proficient in RESTful APIs, Spring 5.x, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, cloud-based technologies, and microservices, including messaging middleware such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or Solace.
• Experienced with applications operating on container platforms (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
