Senior Java Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in requirement gathering and create necessary technical and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect/Technical Lead to analyze and design code modifications based on finalized requirement specifications.
• Implement code changes and conduct system testing in accordance with the specified requirements.
• Ensure that all work adheres to established coding and security standards, as well as corporate processes.
• Carry out quality assurance (QA) tasks, including unit testing, system testing, and code reviews.
• Contribute to system integration testing by supporting the Test Team and addressing reported issues.
• Assist both internal and external stakeholders during the testing phases.
• Support customers throughout acceptance testing and post-cutover implementation.
• Help develop training materials and deliver presentations.

Requisites:

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in backend development, delivering production-grade systems (including microservices, APIs, event processing, web portals, and production support).
• Strong experience with AWS-native systems and operations, including any of the following:
• API Gateway / ALB, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, WAF.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Octopus, Terraform, or their equivalents.
• Solid technical expertise with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, SQL/PLSQL, and XML.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Spring 5.x, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, cloud-based technologies, and microservices, including messaging middleware such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or Solace.
• Experience with applications operating on container platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain a positive attitude.
• Domain knowledge and experience in the financial industry or payments systems is advantageous.
