SAP S/4HANA Grant Management (GM) Consultant

Position Overview

We are in search of a knowledgeable SAP S/4HANA Grant Management (GM) Consultant to architect, configure, and provide ongoing support for both Grantee and Grantor processes. The successful candidate will excel in establishing efficient data and financial connections between incoming and outgoing grants, ensuring alignment with Project Systems (PS) and Internal Orders (IO).

Primary Responsibilities

1. Grantee Management (Incoming Grants)

• Configuration: Develop master data setups, encompassing sponsor information, sponsored programs, and sponsored classes.
• Workflow Approvals: Capable of configuring workflow approvals during the creation of Grants.
• Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle from proposal and award through to indirect cost (IDC) calculations and project closure.
• Cost Object Linkage: Integrate incoming grants with WBS Elements and Internal Orders for precise tracking of project expenses.
• Budget Management: Configure availability control (AVC) thresholds against Internal Orders and Project Systems budgets.
• Billing & Reporting: Streamline sponsor billing through resource-related billing (RRB) based on actual costs recorded to IO/PS.

2. Grantor Management (Outgoing Grants / Sub-awards)

• Program Configuration: Set up grantor programs, application forms, and eligibility criteria rules within the SAP system.
• Application Workflow: Oversee the comprehensive flow of applications, including assessments, scoring, and approval processes.
• Agreement Management: Associate legal grant agreements and funding commitments with specific WBS Elements or Internal Orders.
• Claims Processing: Handle incoming claims from sub-grantees, validate performance milestones, and initiate payments against IO/PS. [1, 2]

3. Grantor-to-Grantee Connection (Pass-Through Funding)

• Process Integration: Create a clear link between incoming funding (Grantee) and outgoing sub-awards (Grantor).
• Funding Optimization: Configure the system to ensure that outgoing grantor awards effectively utilize budgets sanctioned by incoming grantee awards.
• Audit Trail Maintenance: Ensure comprehensive audit trails that connect the original donor, the primary project (WBS/IO), and the final sub-recipient.

4. SAP Fiori Reporting & Analytics

• Dashboard Implementation: Provide both standard and tailored SAP Fiori analytical applications for enhanced real-time visibility into grants.
• Embedded Reporting: Leverage SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics to generate operational reports that compare budgeted versus actual figures for both IO and PS.
• Role-Specific Access: Design Fiori Launchpad spaces and pages specifically for Grant Managers, Principal Investigators, and Auditors. [1]

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: A minimum of 5–7 years of practical functional experience in SAP Grant Management (GM) configuration.
• Domain Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in linking Grantee and Grantor models for pass-through funding mechanisms.
• PS/IO Knowledge: Comprehensive functional understanding of SAP Project Systems (WBS structures, budgeting, settlement) and Internal Orders.
• Fiori Proficiency: Strong capability in configuring standard SAP Fiori reporting applications and translating business reporting needs into analytical perspectives.
