Principal Design Director

Overview

The Principal Design Director (FOS) will spearhead the management of design and the technical execution of large-scale industrial projects. This role is essential for maintaining design excellence, ensuring effective collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and driving successful project delivery from initial concept through to commissioning.

Your role

• Direct and manage the overall design strategy, technical governance, and the delivery of projects.
• Supervise multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, process, and specialist disciplines.
• Facilitate design interfaces among clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Lead design reviews, assess constructability, and initiate value engineering efforts.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, regulatory compliance, quality benchmarks, and safety standards.
• Assist in project planning, execution strategies, and risk management processes.
• Offer technical leadership during the construction and commissioning stages.
• Provide mentorship and foster the development of engineering and design teams.
  
  

About You

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in design, engineering, and project execution.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on significant capital projects.
• Strong abilities in stakeholder management and client relations.
• Proven track record in EPC/EPCM project settings.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, semiconductor, or data center projects is highly desirable.
• Professional registration or chartered status is preferred.
