Mainframe Batch Monitoring and Support

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage Mainframe batch jobs utilizing scheduling tools such as CA7, Control M, ESP, TWS, and IBM Workload Scheduler
• Guarantee the successful execution of daily, weekly, and monthly batch processing cycles
• Detect, analyze, and resolve batch job failures, abends, JCL errors, and dependency problems
• Conduct reruns, restarts, and job recovery tasks according to established operational procedures
• Monitor essential production applications to ensure compliance with SLAs
• Collaborate with Application Support, Development, DBA, Storage, and Infrastructure teams for effective issue resolution
• Examine batch schedules and confirm job dependencies and execution timelines
• Analyze system logs, JES spool outputs, and batch execution reports
• Assist with production releases and scheduled maintenance activities
• Compile incident reports, root cause analysis documents, and operational status updates
• Engage in 24/7 shift support and on-call duties as necessary
