Lead Software & Platform Engineer Trading Systems

Role:

• We seek an experienced Lead Software & Platform Engineer to help modernise complex financial trading technology platforms.
• This position centers on cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and building dependable, scalable services that support front office trading.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and modernise backend applications and platform services.
• Participate in software and cloud architecture decisions.
• Engineer distributed, high-volume systems and microservices.
• Create scalable cloud-native solutions using AWS and/or Azure.
• Work with containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
• Enhance production reliability, performance, scalability, and observability.
• Champion engineering best practices, automation, and continuous CI/CD improvements.
• Partner with architecture, development, DevOps, and SRE teams.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of relevant software and platform engineering experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with Node.js, C#/.NET and/or comparable backend technologies.
• Experience with AWS and/or MS Azure architecture.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and high-volume applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, serverless technologies, and production engineering.
• Working understanding of application performance, scalability, resilience, and observability.
• Hands-on engineering experience with front office trading platforms or systems.
• Relevant experience may include electronic trading platforms, order management, trade execution, pricing, or market-data applications.
• Strong architecture, technical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
