Innovation Platform / Cloud Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Innovation Platform / Cloud Engineer to architect, oversee, and enhance cloud-driven innovation sandbox environments. This position will emphasize empowering teams to swiftly test emerging technologies while maintaining robust governance, security, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

Innovation Sandbox Strategy & Management

• Design, deploy, and oversee cloud-based sandbox environments for technology experimentation and validation.
• Establish governance protocols for the sandbox, including onboarding processes, access controls, operational procedures, and evaluation frameworks.
• Oversee platform availability, performance, utilization, troubleshooting, and daily operations.
• Track resource utilization and pinpoint opportunities to enhance performance and reduce cloud costs.
• Examine resource consumption and billing details, investigate discrepancies, and assist in accurate chargeback processes.
• Ensure sandbox environments adhere to cybersecurity, privacy, governance, and regulatory standards.
• Continuously enhance sandbox capabilities in response to user and project needs.

Innovation Facilitation & Skill Development

• Create reusable frameworks, playbooks, best practices, and reference architectures.
• Develop self-service platforms, development toolkits, APIs, cloud environments, and shared services to expedite innovation.
• Offer technical insight to project and innovation teams regarding cloud platforms, architecture, governance, and adoption strategies.
• Assist in the integration of emerging technologies into current IT infrastructures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT systems, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related fields.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related area.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure, platform administration, and system integration.
• Experience with software development principles, APIs, testing, and application integration.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, containers, and virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM), cybersecurity, and IT governance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic, agile, and constantly evolving environment.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud certifications, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certifications.
• IT service management certifications such as ITIL.
• Experience with innovation platforms, technology sandboxes, or cloud-based experimentation environments.
• Familiarity with healthcare technology, privacy, or regulatory environments is a plus.
