Infrastructure Engineer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer to enhance our data center operations, manage hardware deployments, oversee Kubernetes implementations, and handle networking responsibilities. The successful candidate will possess strong skills in Linux and Windows environments, Kubernetes cluster oversight, network troubleshooting, and scripting capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Data Center Operations & Hardware Deployment:

• Install, configure, and sustain hardware within a data center environment, which includes servers, network switches, storage systems, and HSMs.
• Manage fiber optic and copper cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a), including termination (RJ45, LC, SC connectors) and testing processes.
• Conduct routine hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting as needed.

Kubernetes & Server Management:

• Implement and supervise Kubernetes clusters on both bare metal and virtualized environments.
• Address issues related to container orchestration and workload distribution.
• Enhance Kubernetes performance and security measures.

Networking & Security:

• Set up and troubleshoot network switches, VLANs, subnetting, IP addressing, and routing.
• Perform network performance evaluations and resolve connectivity challenges.
• Utilize network security tools and configurations effectively.

System Administration & Scripting:

• Oversee and manage Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Create and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and system monitoring.
• Improve system performance, security, and availability.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of Linux and Windows administration.
• Practical experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Networking proficiency, including VLANs, subnetting, IP addressing, routing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in hardware deployment within a data center environment, along with cabling and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Expertise in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and system administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Helm).
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment processes.
• Certifications such as RHCE, CKAD/CKA, CCNA, or equivalent are also preferred.
