Head of NPD Product Insights - Software Delivery

Position Overview

In the capacity of Head of Software Delivery (NPD Product Insights), you will be instrumental in shaping our forthcoming digital initiatives that prioritize customer experience, provide valuable insights to the business, and drive innovation at every level.

Managing a team that is distributed internationally across Singapore and the UK, you will lead the ideation, scoping, and execution of data-centric projects, collaborating closely with various cross-functional teams within IT and Business Functions. This position requires a strategic visionary, a technical innovator, and a seasoned leader eager to utilize data in redefining product development boundaries.

A significant aspect of this role involves navigating a complex stakeholder landscape to ensure that solutions are tailored to meet the diverse needs of various teams and Business Functions. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with corporate policies and staying updated on pertinent technological advancements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Direction:

• Oversee the implementation of the strategic roadmap, encompassing owner experience, consumer product portfolios, and enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of product development within the company.
• Develop and manage high-performing product and program management teams in Singapore and the UK, directing consumer and enterprise data initiatives to support strategic objectives and promote collaboration and growth.

Collaboration with Business, Product, and Enterprise IT Teams:

• Lead the transformation of data-driven initiatives, integrating product, business, and customer needs into scalable data solutions, including Embedded Software, Application Software, and Cloud capabilities from the NPD function, alongside Enterprise IT systems managed by the CIO function. Actively engage with diverse stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize requirements, ensuring they align with business goals.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Research & Development teams to incorporate data into the entire product lifecycle.
• In collaboration with IT, coordinate cross-functional teams to plan and execute data initiatives from inception to delivery and ongoing support.

Management of Customer Data Products and Programs:

• Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators related to data-driven initiatives for both Product and Program.
• Facilitate the creation of insight-driven tools and products aimed at continuous enhancement, performance optimization, and intelligent diagnostics of Dyson offerings.
• Gather feedback from users and stakeholders, driving ongoing improvements for these tools and products.

Fostering Innovation and Insights:

• Leverage data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to uncover opportunities for product enhancements.
• Enhance the organization's capabilities in predictive and prescriptive analytics to inform decision-making processes.

Operational Excellence:

• Ensure adherence to governance and best practices regarding data privacy, security, and compliance.
• Stay informed about relevant technological trends and best practices, proactively integrating these into Dyson teams.

Cross-Functional Integration:

• Facilitate connections between IT, Business, and Engineering teams to guarantee seamless data insights integration across Dyson.
• Collaborate with IT and Business Functions to strategize data-driven initiative implementations, enhance user adoption, and provide necessary ongoing support and training.

Qualifications:

• Leadership Acumen: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams with a strong emphasis on collaboration and achieving results.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Software, Data, and Cloud Infrastructure, with experience in large-scale data systems, APIs, and developing data exchange workflows.
• Experience in Product Development: Successful track record in integrating data products within physical product development processes, ideally in the consumer technology or engineering sectors.
• Analytics & AI Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of machine learning and AI technologies, with hands-on experience in converting raw data into actionable business insights.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Outstanding communication abilities to interact effectively with teams across engineering, business, and executive leadership.
• International Exposure: Experience working in multinational and multicultural settings; comfortable with regular travel between Singapore and the UK.
• Academic Credentials: Degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience leading complex cross-functional, enterprise-wide projects across multiple functions.
• Familiarity with IoT (Internet of Things) ecosystems, telemetry, and deriving insights from connected products.
• A proven record of delivering software and data projects while ensuring quality, security, and compliance.
