Functional Business Analyst (Banking, 9-month renewable contract)

Primary Responsibilities

• Interpret business requirements into comprehensive functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, and process designs.
• Facilitate requirement coordination among business, design, technology, development, and testing teams.
• Create functional specifications, process documentation, and detailed user stories.
• Oversee requirements scope, risks, dependencies, changes, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate operational impacts and assist in implementation and operational readiness planning.
• Aid in SIT/UAT preparations, encompassing test case requirements, defect triage, and clarification of requirements.
• Encourage collaboration between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure clear understanding and delivery of requirements.
• Support comprehensive project delivery through various project phases and stakeholder engagement.
• Generate and maintain essential project deliverables, including:

o User Stories

o Functional Specifications

o L2 Process Design and Documentation

o Operational Impact Assessments

o Detailed Test Cases

o Requirements Traceability and Change Management Documentation

Essential Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience working as a Functional Business Analyst, ideally in digital banking, investments/equities trading, card payments, or digital wallet provisioning.
• Proven experience across at least 6 complete project delivery cycles.
• Demonstrated strong experience in Digital Banking is mandatory.
• Familiarity with card payments is preferred, particularly with digital wallet provisioning and payment systems such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.
• Experience in card services, especially payments, transaction authorization, and related card processing functions, is an advantage.
• Experience in wealth management, particularly in equities trading, is a plus.
• Capable of independently:

o Translating business needs into functional and non-functional specifications.

o Creating user stories, process designs, and functional specifications.

o Facilitating requirement gathering across business, design, technology, and testing teams.

o Managing scope, risks, dependencies, changes, and requirements traceability.

o Evaluating operational impacts and supporting implementation readiness.

o Assisting with SIT/UAT planning, defect triage, and requirement clarification.

• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Previous experience in Agile delivery environments is preferred.
• Experience with regional banking projects is also preferred.
