Core Banking Production Support Analyst (AS400 / Payments)

Position Overview

• We are in search of a Production Support Analyst who will be responsible for ensuring the stability, upkeep, and troubleshooting of our enterprise payment and core banking systems. This role involves delivering L2/L3 production support, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and facilitating end-to-end testing and production rollouts in a high-availability setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Incident & Problem Management: Conduct systematic root cause analysis on application issues, provide technical resolutions, and support L2 teams during incident recovery and escalations.
• Application Maintenance & Enhancements: Troubleshoot code, implement minor adjustments, and assist with testing throughout SIT, UAT, and production deployments during designated maintenance periods.
• System Resiliency: Proactively detect performance bottlenecks to improve application throughput, stability, and the handling of high-volume transactions.
• Release & Change Management: Adhere to SDM policies, carry out risk and impact evaluations for all deployments, and ensure the accuracy of technical documentation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Clearly communicate incident statuses, root cause analyses, and release notes to business users, internal support teams, and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in production support across various platforms and technologies

Essential Technical Skills:

• Proven hands-on expertise in the IBM AS400 / iSeries environment.
• Strong programming and querying capabilities in RPG/LE, CL/LE, COBOL400, SQL, and Query400.
• Experience with change management and version control tools (e.g., ALDON, IBM RDi).
• Familiarity with monitoring and scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Splunk, BMC Helix).

Industry Knowledge:

• Familiarity with banking payment and settlement processes, including SWIFT messaging (MT/MX, ISO 20022), cross-border remittances, or regional clearing networks (e.g., MEPS+, RTGS, FAST, RENTAS, CNAPS).
