Role Description

As a Recruitment Consultant at Michael Page, you will:

  • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients by understanding their business priorities and requirements for contract, interim, and fractional talent.
  • Discover new business opportunities driven by transformation initiatives, business growth, temporary leadership requirements, leave cover, and specialist skills needs.
  • Provide guidance to clients on recruitment solutions for time-bound assignments, interim appointments, and fractional roles that reflect an agreed portion of a professional’s working time.
  • Handle the complete recruitment lifecycle, including client briefings, candidate sourcing and assessment, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and assignment follow-up.
  • Partner with clients to define assignment scope, required expertise, expected outcomes, duration, and working arrangements.
  • Create networks of professionals interested in contract, interim, project-based, and fractional opportunities through direct sourcing, referrals, and market mapping.
  • Evaluate candidates against role requirements, taking into account expertise, relevant achievements, availability, and their capability to deliver within the assignment scope.
  • Support clients and candidates with advice on talent availability, remuneration, assignment expectations, and recruitment processes.
  • Develop recruitment proposals and negotiate fees, assignment terms, and service agreements in line with company guidelines.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal teams regarding engagement arrangements, onboarding, documentation, and assignment administration according to applicable requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain consistent contact with clients and placed professionals to support assignment delivery, resolve concerns, and discuss extensions or future opportunities.
  • Strengthen your understanding of flexible workforce models and market trends to support informed client conversations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams and locations to advance client opportunities, candidate referrals, and recruitment delivery.
  • Keep recruitment records accurate and maintain confidentiality for client and candidate information.
  • Ensure fair recruitment practices, service quality, and professional integrity throughout the recruitment process.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:

  • Relevant experience in recruitment, sales, business development, or account management, with the ability to build relationships and achieve commercial outcomes.
  • A genuine interest in contract, interim, and fractional recruitment, plus a willingness to build expertise in flexible talent solutions. Prior recruitment or workforce solutions experience is an advantage.
  • The capability to understand business challenges and convert them into clear hiring or assignment requirements.
  • Commercial awareness, including the ability to recognise opportunities, engage prospective clients, and develop existing accounts.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, using a consultative approach to understand both client and candidate needs.
  • Effective research and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and onboarding requirements.
  • Responsiveness and sound judgement when handling time-sensitive requests and changing assignment requirements.
  • High attention to detail when managing commercial terms, assignment documentation, and recruitment records.
  • A commitment to fair hiring, confidentiality, and building trusted, long-term professional relationships.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
