Network Engineer

Job Description:

We are hiring a qualified Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise network infrastructure. This position demands proficiency with network protocols, efficient troubleshooting, and a commitment to maintaining reliable, secure network availability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
• Continuously monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to support dependable operations.
• Build and administer routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
• Set up VLANs, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs) to protect and logically segment the network.
• Oversee and provide support for network hardware, including Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent vendor solutions.
• Participate in network upgrades, patch management, and hardware replacement activities.
• Ensure adherence to network security best practices and support incident response efforts as needed.
• Work with cross-functional teams to assist network-related projects and initiatives.
• Keep detailed documentation covering network configurations, topology, and operating procedures.
• Deliver technical support and training to junior network staff when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in network engineering or support.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
• Experience working with Cisco routers, switches, and network security appliances.
• Effective problem-solving abilities and capability to perform under pressure.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Experience with data center networking and cloud network concepts is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with firewall configuration and management (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Understanding of wireless networking technologies.
