Windows Engineer

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Windows Server Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server environments, along with managing associated services and virtualization platforms. This role demands a proactive approach to system performance, security, and reliability, ensuring optimal operations across our infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Deploy, configure, and oversee Windows Server platforms (2016, 2019, and 2022). • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including patching and system updates on Windows Servers. • Monitor server health, performance metrics, backups, and security measures, addressing issues promptly. • Administer core Windows services such as Active Directory, DHCP, Group Policy, and others. • Possess hands-on experience with IIS, Plesk, DNS, SQL, and domain services. • Configure and support Hyper-V virtualization environments, managing virtual machines (VMs), networks, and storage solutions. • Provide advanced technical support (2nd and 3rd level) for issues related to Windows Server, Azure cloud services, and virtualization technologies. • Respond effectively to incidents and service requests, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. • Use monitoring tools to oversee server performance, network activity, and overall system health. • Design and implement robust backup strategies utilizing Azure Backup and NAS storage solutions. • Enforce security best practices across servers, network infrastructure, and cloud environments to safeguard organizational assets. Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. • 1 to 3 years of practical experience managing Windows Servers, Azure cloud services, and Hyper-V virtualization platforms. • Demonstrated expertise with Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) in production environments. • Proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other foundational Windows services. • Strong understanding of Azure services including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, and Storage Accounts. • Skilled in scripting with PowerShell and Batch (BAT) to automate administrative tasks. • Knowledge of backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and security protocols. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Preferred Qualifications: • Microsoft certifications such as MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) or Azure Solutions Architect. • Experience managing hybrid cloud environments integrating Azure and Hyper-V. • Solid understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting techniques.
