Job Summary

This hybrid Test Lead position is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality verification for embedded systems built on Windows XP Embedded. The role uses Robot Framework with Python and Embedded C to ensure robust functionality for research and clinical oriented solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a day shift environment, supporting innovation in bioinformatics and medical technology.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end test strategy for embedded solutions based on Windows XP Embedded to ensure dependable performance and adherence to internal quality standards across all supported releases.

Oversee development of thorough test plans and detailed test cases using Robot Framework and Python, validating complex functional and regression scenarios with traceable coverage.

Provide hands-on automated test script development using Robot Framework and Python to improve repeatability, reduce manual effort, and accelerate feedback cycles in hybrid work settings.

Coordinate embedded-level verification by reviewing and executing tests targeting firmware modules written in Embedded C to confirm stability, error handling, and resource efficiency.

Lead root cause analysis for defects found during system and integration testing to enable timely fixes and continuous improvement of embedded features and data handling logic.

Partner with developers, product owners, and domain experts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria so test designs reflect real-world usage in research and clinical workflows.

Implement robust test data management practices to simulate realistic scenarios for preclinical and clinical research use cases while safeguarding integrity and consistency.

Track test execution progress and quality metrics, prepare concise status reports, and communicate risks to stakeholders to support informed decision-making and release readiness.

Optimize test environments for Windows XP Embedded systems by coordinating configuration deployment and maintenance activities that enable stable and repeatable test runs.

Contribute to continuous improvement of test frameworks and utilities using Python by enhancing libraries, tools, and reusable components that increase productivity for the broader team.

Support defect lifecycle management by ensuring accurate defect documentation, prioritization, and verification so that critical issues affecting research and clinical workflows are resolved promptly.

Ensure testing outcomes align with organizational goals by validating that embedded solutions improve reliability, efficiency, and safety for end users in scientific and healthcare communities.

Support hybrid collaboration using clear written and spoken English to share test insights, coordinate activities, and document outcomes for distributed teams.

Qualifications

Bring advanced experience in Windows XP Embedded to design test scenarios that thoroughly exercise operating system services, hardware interfaces, and embedded configurations.

Apply strong Robot Framework proficiency to structure robust automated test suites, implement reusable keywords, and integrate results reporting for large-scale test campaigns.

Use practical Python scripting skills to build utilities for log analysis, data generation, and test orchestration that streamline validation of complex embedded behaviors.

Apply deep knowledge of Embedded C concepts such as memory management and hardware interaction to design tests that surface boundary conditions and potential failure modes.

Use domain familiarity with research and development processes to align testing priorities with innovation goals and rapid prototyping demands.

Demonstrate understanding of preclinical and clinical workflows to validate that system behaviors support accurate data collection, traceability, and compliance-oriented practices.

Certifications Required

ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst or equivalent test automation certification focusing on embedded systems and Python-based frameworks.
