System Maintenance Engineer (Windows servers/ Linux)

Remuneration: S$300 standby allowance plus S$50 mobile allowance
Location: Singapore
Work Schedule: 24/7 standby support
Service Level Agreement (SLA): 2 hours on-site response, 2 hours resolution

Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive System Maintenance Engineer to oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous operation of electronic systems and related IT infrastructure. The role requires on-site technical support, routine preventive and corrective maintenance, system diagnostics, and collaboration with clients and contractors to ensure optimal system performance.

Core Skills and Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs of end devices, card readers, central equipment, and associated system components.
• Diagnose system, hardware, and network issues, determine root causes, and replace faulty parts as necessary.
• Deliver on-site support for system outages and service requests, adhering to the 2-hour response and resolution SLA.
• Manage, upgrade, patch, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems, including vulnerability mitigation under senior engineer supervision.
• Assist with system deployment, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance throughout the software and hardware lifecycle.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans, including electrical, security, and cable-routing layouts.
• Coordinate installation, maintenance, and site activities with clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Compile service reports, maintenance checklists, technical documentation, quotations, and Variation Orders (VO).
• Monitor maintenance progress, update clients on status, and escalate unresolved technical issues promptly.
• Support procurement activities, billing milestones, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation, and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma, Degree, or certification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Infocomm Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of experience in system implementation, maintenance, technical support, or similar technical roles.
• Practical knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems, including management, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Understanding of the entire system or software lifecycle, from deployment and operation to troubleshooting and upkeep.
• Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities across systems, hardware, and networks.
• Experience with site installation, preventive maintenance, testing, and commissioning processes.
• Strong communication, documentation, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability to provide 24×7 standby support and attend on-site incidents in line with the SLA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with security system integration or electronic system maintenance.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare cable-routing plans, shop drawings, or as-built documentation.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, Work-at-Height regulations, and relevant industrial standards.
• Possession of a Class 3 driving license and personal vehicle.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or equivalent software.
