Solution Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture for complex, multi-tiered systems, spanning requirements, implementation, and production support.
• Drive the modernization of monolithic applications into modern, loosely coupled, microservices-based architectures.
• Create highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant solutions for customer-facing applications at bank scale.
• Architect and mentor cloud-native applications and API-first solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to ensure delivery aligns with enterprise standards for performance, scalability, and compliance.
• Perform system and process analysis to pinpoint architectural gaps and identify automation and performance enhancement opportunities.
• Assess and recommend data storage approaches across RDBMS, NoSQL, and legacy/emerging database technologies.
• Serve as a technical liaison between engineering teams and non-technical/business stakeholders, communicating architectural trade-offs and decisions clearly.
• Ensure solutions meet banking-industry regulatory, security, and data-privacy requirements, including PCI-DSS, SOX, GLBA, and internal risk/compliance frameworks.
• Support architecture governance, design reviews, and the establishment of reusable patterns and standards across the GCC.
• Mentor engineers and junior architects on architectural best practices at the Principal level and above.

Required Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in web/software development, demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility in solutions or enterprise architecture.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience delivering complex, multi-tiered software systems end to end.
• Strong knowledge across multiple IT disciplines, with a clear understanding of core architectural concepts and patterns (including SOA, event-driven, microservices, and domain-driven design).
• Experience conducting system and process analysis to guide architectural decisions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions with both technical teams and non-technical/business stakeholders.
• Proven experience working with data and database management systems, including both legacy and modern/emerging database technologies.
• RDBMS experience required; hands-on NoSQL experience required.
• Shown experience designing and building highly available, customer-facing applications within a global delivery/shared-services (GCC) model.
• Experience designing and building cloud-native applications and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Demonstrated experience designing highly available, resilient architectures, including automation and performance-optimization initiatives.
• Proven track record transforming monolithic architectures into modern, decoupled microservices-based systems.
• Hands-on experience in at least two to three of the following domains: Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, Application Development, Database Technologies, or Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent); equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Desired / Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the banking or financial services sector, including familiarity with consumer and custodial banking operations and handling sensitive financial data.
• Strong business analysis, solution development, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
• Experience in cybersecurity architecture or secure-by-design principles.
• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and at least one modern front-end framework (Angular, React, or Vue), as well as languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Golang, C, or C++.
• Exposure to UI/UX design, including experience with web/application branding and design-system practices.
• Cloud architecture certification(s): AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) or equivalent certification.
• Experience delivering in Agile/SAFe environments with distributed global teams and multiple time zones.
