Software Developer (BigData/JAVA)

Position Overview

• Lead a comprehensive technical study to propose solutions, incorporating insights from infrastructure big data experts and business analysts.
• Document the proposed designs and oversee the development of the solution.
• Ensure that all Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI-CD) artifacts are integrated within the solution.
• Conduct code reviews, promote knowledge sharing, and mentor team members on industry best practices.
• Engage with project managers to provide updates and reporting on progress.
• Identify and monitor technical risks, escalating issues to management as needed.
• Research, design, and develop software applications.
• Analyze user requirements and create tailored software solutions.
• Update existing software, enhance capabilities, and direct software testing and validation processes.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to integrate both hardware and software systems.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming, or System Analysis.
• At least 8 years of experience in software development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Java/J2EE development.
• Proficient in data ingestion and processing technologies, such as Spark Streaming and Apache Spark.
• Experience with messaging systems, including Kafka, Flume, ActiveMQ, MQSeries, or RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, preferably the Hortonworks distribution, including HDFS, HBase, Hive, and ORC/Parquet.
• Familiarity with build tools like Maven, sbt, or Ant, as well as UML, RESTful web services, Jenkins or Team City, and source management tools such as SVN or GIT, along with Test-Driven Development (TDD) using JUnit and tools like Jira or Quality Center.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both peers and management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• A keen interest in following technology trends and participating in relevant communities.
• A commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering the growth of team members’ skills.
• Interest in mentoring junior team members and guiding them towards producing high-quality deliverables.
