Application Analyst Programmer (Calypso)

Position Overview

• Swiftly and effectively address incidents affecting users, ensuring thorough investigation and communication throughout the incident lifecycle. Proactively identify workarounds and coordinate stakeholders during critical incidents. Provide clear and timely updates to users, senior management, and other IT stakeholders.
• Respond promptly and effectively to user requests, prioritizing them based on urgency and impact. When necessary, escalate requests while serving as the primary point of contact for users.
• Conduct analysis of Java code and recommend necessary adjustments.
• Implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurring incidents by identifying root causes and defining remediation actions. Suggest solutions such as feature development, automation, or updates to online help for frequent requests.
• Act as the main communication link between IT and various stakeholders. Collaborate closely with other support engineers, users, and CMI and CAGIP stakeholders. May involve participation in additional tasks such as testing or business analysis.
• Adhere to CMI Run processes, standards, and recommendations from the Run Control Tower, actively engaging in their enhancement.

Application Monitoring

• Establish and implement necessary application monitoring to enable timely incident detection, utilizing monitoring as code wherever feasible.
• Oversee daily and monthly batch processes occurring during the Singapore morning and early afternoon, ensuring rapid analysis and resolution of issues to minimize downtime.
• Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports concerning data quality.
• Optimize processes to lessen the need for manual intervention.

Incident and Request Management (from business users and other IT teams)

• Deliver level 2 and level 3 application support to back-office users.
• Analyze and manage incidents and requests efficiently.
• Coordinate incidents that impact multiple teams.

Problem Management and Continuous Improvement

• Identify and eliminate recurring issues.
• Provide requirements to develop a team focused on bug fixing and enhancements.
• Prepare and maintain a knowledge base for all applications within the team's scope, collaborating with the build and operations teams.
• Implement training for business users to decrease daily requests directed to IT.
• Facilitate process improvements.
• Mentorship of junior team members as needed.

Change Improvement

• Conduct release testing.
• Perform performance analysis.
• Oversee production deployment and validation.
• Manage production releases on weekends (rotating schedule among the team).

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in development and support.
• Experience with Calypso version 16 is advantageous, but familiarity with other back-office systems is also beneficial.
• Exposure to Calypso Back-office functionalities is a plus.
• Familiarity with reconciliation processes.
• Understanding of financial assets (Repos, Bonds, Securities) and the trade lifecycle.
• Experience in regulatory reporting (MMSR).
• Background in supporting capital market applications and trading systems, preferably within Market Risk/Front Office operations, with a solid understanding of financial products (Treasury, FX, Credit, IRD, Bonds, RSF, etc.).
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (GIT, Maven/Graven/Nuget/Ansible, Jenkins, etc.).
• Valuable experience with tools and technologies including Elastic Search, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Control-M, KAFKA, Confluence, Jira, GitLab, and MQ Series.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell Script, PowerShell, SQL, etc.).
• Experience with automation frameworks and libraries.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX platforms and database management systems (SQL, Oracle, Sybase, Big Data, etc.).
• Familiarity with Java, PL/SQL, and Linux.
• In-depth knowledge of Confirmations, Settlement, Position, and Accounting modules.
• Understanding of financial assets (repos, bonds, SLB, issuances) and trade lifecycle.
