• Conduct research, design, and software development.
• Revise software, enhance existing capabilities, and create and oversee software testing and validation processes.
• Implement and test components based on functional specifications.
• Develop technical specifications derived from functional requirements and overarching architecture.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to integrate hardware and/or software systems.
• Engage in technical design discussions and coordinate with business analysts regarding all facets of business requirements.
• Assess user needs and formulate software solutions.
• Participate in the analysis, resolution, and provision of technical support escalated to the team.
• Create specifications and performance criteria.
• Prepare specifications, technical designs, unit tests, peer reviews, and comprehensive system integration documentation as required throughout the project lifecycle.
• Help maintain a high standard of delivery quality.
• Engage in technical discussions and suggest solutions informed by industry best practices.
• Provide level 3 support for production applications - analyze and troubleshoot issues as they occur.

Qualifications and Experience

• Practical experience with Micro Focus COBOL
• Hands-on experience with C and Pro*C programming languages
• Proficient in Shell scripting
• Experience with SQL/PL-SQL
• Familiarity with GitLab
• Experience with Oracle databases
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Jenkins and Maven
• Knowledge of Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration (CD/CI) practices
• Familiarity with MQ and CFT
