ServiceNow Network Discovery & CMDB Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled network engineer to lead onboarding and discovery initiatives utilizing ServiceNow. The successful candidate will possess a robust networking background, have a deep understanding of ServiceNow, and be adept at configuring network devices from various vendors to facilitate integration with ServiceNow discovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement network discovery across the complete device landscape employing ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Assess, reconcile, and resolve CMDB configuration item (CI) data and relationships specifically for network assets.
• Integrate network infrastructure and its dependencies into ServiceNow with precise mappings and attributes.
• Establish, configure, and enhance discovery patterns, probes, and credentials to guarantee consistent network discovery.
• Proactively identify and troubleshoot discovery gaps and data quality concerns.
• Create documentation for onboarding workflows, discovery configurations, and CMDB data standards to ensure a seamless transition to operations.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in network engineering or operations, with a solid foundation in IT Service Management (ITSM) and CMDB.
• Proven experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Comprehensive understanding of CMDB data models, CI relationship mapping, and governance of data quality.
• Strong fundamentals in networking (routing, switching, firewalls) to analyze discovered network maps effectively.
• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell) for data reconciliation is a plus.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multi-vendor environments.
