Senior Staff Nurse, Intensive Care Unit

Overview

This position provides a unique opportunity to deliver vital care for patients in critical condition within high dependency and intensive care settings, emphasizing advanced medical interventions and support mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients and interpret clinical, laboratory, and diagnostic findings. Manage and troubleshoot monitoring devices and hemodynamic monitoring systems. Efficiently set up, calibrate, and maintain critical care monitoring equipment. Administer and supervise oxygen and medical gas therapies. Execute airway management techniques, including the use of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes, in accordance with competency standards. Assist patients requiring both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Promptly identify and escalate urgent respiratory issues. Provide humidification and aerosol therapies as necessary. Support bronchoscopy procedures when needed. Ensure the safe intra-hospital transportation of critically ill patients and manage cardiopulmonary support during transport.

Qualifications

• Mandatory registration with the Singapore Nursing Board. An Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care) is advantageous. Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a high dependency or intensive care unit environment is preferred. Proven expertise in critical care nursing is essential. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking abilities are required.
