Senior Product Specialist

Job Summary

Serve as a senior product specialist dedicated to Mendix applications, helping shape secure, scalable low-code solutions for enterprise clients within a hybrid work model. Partner with cross-functional teams to convert business needs into Mendix-based products that improve operational efficiency—particularly for life and annuities insurance—while maintaining high-quality delivery and strong user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Design Mendix applications that convert complex business requirements into efficient, maintainable digital products delivering measurable value to clients and internal teams in a hybrid work environment.

Build reusable Mendix components and microflows to optimize performance, enhance maintainability, and enable consistent implementation of enterprise standards across multiple product lines.

Configure data models, pages, and business logic in Mendix to ensure correct processing of business rules, validations, and workflows that reduce manual work for business users.

Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring Mendix solutions meet functional needs and non-functional expectations.

Work with quality engineering colleagues to define test scenarios, support automated testing approaches, and resolve defects promptly to sustain high reliability for Mendix applications.

Integrate Mendix applications with enterprise systems such as policy administration, billing, and customer portals using connectors and services that provide secure, consistent data exchange.

Enhance end-user experience through effective page design, navigation flows, and responsive behavior, enabling users to complete tasks efficiently with minimal training.

Review production usage metrics and user feedback to identify Mendix application improvement opportunities and implement enhancements that increase stability, performance, and satisfaction.

Document solution designs, configuration decisions, and operational procedures to improve maintainability, support audit readiness, and enable smooth transitions between product releases.

Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure Mendix deployments align with organizational standards for access control, data protection, and compliance requirements.

Mentor peers on Mendix development practices by sharing knowledge of patterns and troubleshooting techniques, supporting a culture of continuous improvement within the product team.

Engage stakeholders to clearly explain Mendix capabilities and limitations in business language, enabling informed decisions about product scope and priorities.

Align daily execution with company objectives by delivering Mendix solutions that streamline operations, reduce processing time, and improve service outcomes for customers and communities.

Qualifications

Apply strong Mendix development experience across multiple projects, including expertise in domain modeling, microflows, nanoflows, and page design, to deliver reliable low-code solutions.

Use practical knowledge of application lifecycle management in Mendix, including versioning and deployment pipelines, to enable controlled and predictable releases.

Leverage experience with integration patterns, including REST-based services and database access within Mendix, to connect applications with core enterprise platforms.

Apply knowledge of life and annuities insurance concepts, including policies, premiums, claims, and beneficiary structures, to design solutions that reflect real-world business processes.

Demonstrate solid software engineering foundations, including testing strategies, performance tuning, and error handling, to ensure production-ready Mendix applications.

Show the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment by managing priorities, communicating progress clearly, and collaborating effectively using digital tools.

Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate defects, identify root causes within Mendix configurations, and implement lasting fixes that prevent recurrence.

Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners—in spoken and written form—to explain solution options, tradeoffs, and expected outcomes for each Mendix feature.

Certifications Required
