Senior Officer, Trade Operations

Become a key member of our dynamic team, where you will be instrumental in overseeing Trade Finance operations and ensuring the flawless execution of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate the timely and precise issuance of Import Letters of Credit along with any necessary amendments. Manage the processing of Export Letters of Credit, including advising, amendments, and confirmations. Oversee both inward and outward collection processes, as well as settlements. Calculate transaction fees and prepare billing statements for clients. Handle export bill negotiations and settlements, including Bills Discounting and Forfaiting. Follow up on any unpaid bills and outstanding fees. Process customer payments in accordance with instructions. Generate reports on Trade activities and manage related responsibilities as needed. Issue Banker's Guarantees when required. Evaluate market prices of goods to determine if additional information is necessary. Review Trade Import/Export documents as either a primary or secondary checker. Verify the accuracy and compliance of customer application forms prior to processing. Ensure that management approval is obtained for transactions that require bank commitments. Credit payments for outstanding items to nostro accounts with the correct values. Accurately scan, file, and settle documents to avoid discrepancies. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the processing, including Vessel Tracking systems. Take on additional responsibilities as new product lines are introduced. Improve processing efficiency to shorten delivery times for clients. Provide outstanding customer service while adhering to branch policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field. At least 3-5 years of applicable experience in Trade Finance operations within a banking or financial institution. Comprehensive understanding of Trade Finance products, including Import/Export Letters of Credit, collections, Banker's Guarantees, and relevant financial instruments. In-depth knowledge of international trade documentation and document verification procedures. Familiarity with Trade Finance processing systems such as Eximbills, SWIFT, or alternative trade operations platforms is preferred.
