Senior Machine Learning Engineer

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer with strong programming skills to develop machine learning systems and ensure the performance of machine learning models in a production setting. As a machine learning engineer, you will be responsible for translating business challenges into machine learning solutions that deliver tangible value to our organization. Your role will involve prototyping, implementing, and experimenting with machine learning techniques to address various business needs. Additionally, you will spearhead initiatives to automate, architect, and enhance machine learning processes and workflows. You will also play a crucial role in defining, executing, and upholding best practices for test-driven model development across the Data Science team at MoneyLion.

Primary Responsibilities

• Frame and contextualize machine learning challenges effectively
• Research, construct, and design machine learning systems and models to address business issues
• Evaluate, comprehend, and analyze data to choose suitable datasets for modeling and testing
• Identify, prototype, and implement relevant machine learning algorithms and tools to enhance our offerings
• Design, execute, and monitor experiments and metrics for machine learning models
• Conduct statistical analyses to assess and validate the business impact of modeling enhancements
• Automate, architect, and orchestrate machine learning processes and pipelines
• Oversee, optimize, and sustain machine learning solutions in a production environment
• Enhance existing machine learning libraries and model development frameworks to support model development at MoneyLion
• Collaborate with MLOps Engineers and Data Scientists to refine systems designs and architectures
• Implement test-driven development and promote engineering best practices to minimize technical debt in machine learning systems
• Create tools and internal libraries to support model governance throughout the machine learning development lifecycle

Your Profile

• 3 - 5 years of experience in machine learning
• Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science
• Solid programming knowledge paired with software engineering skills
• Hands-on experience in machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling is essential
• Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
• Skilled in problem solving and troubleshooting using both conventional methods and innovative approaches
• Proficient in Python and SQL
• Experienced with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, and LightGBM
• Preferably experienced in creating machine learning systems and workflows
• Familiar with MLOps tools like DVC, MLFlow, Metaflow, Seldon, and BentoML is a plus
• Knowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
