Senior Engineering Manager

Overview:

We are in search of an accomplished Senior Engineering Manager to champion engineering excellence and ensure the successful execution of projects. This leadership position provides the chance to supervise a variety of construction initiatives while implementing groundbreaking engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer and oversee all engineering, design coordination, and technical operations throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Formulate, assess, and execute engineering strategies, construction methods, temporary works solutions, and proposals for buildability.
• Offer technical direction and support to engineering, construction, BIM, and site teams.
• Evaluate and manage engineering outputs, shop drawings, method statements, technical submissions, and construction documentation.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, statutory regulations, authority mandates, contractual commitments, and company standards.
• Identify, evaluate, and alleviate engineering and construction risks at all stages of the project.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and project teams to promptly address design and technical challenges.
• Supervise design development and construction progress, ensuring swift resolution of engineering issues that may affect project timelines.
• Lead initiatives for value engineering and design optimization to enhance constructability, productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide regular updates on engineering progress, technical risks, and significant project matters to senior management.
• Promote the use of BIM, digital construction technologies, and innovative engineering approaches to improve project delivery.
• Advocate for and enforce Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, along with project-specific safety standards.
• Guide and develop engineering staff to bolster technical skills and succession planning within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Construction Management, or a related field.
• A Master's Degree is a plus.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in the construction sector, with a minimum of 8 years in engineering management or senior project engineering roles for major building ventures.
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale construction projects valued at S$500 million or more.
• In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, buildability, temporary works, design coordination, and engineering management practices.
• Knowledge of Singapore's statutory requirements and authority processes.
• Experience with BIM implementation, digital construction technologies, and engineering innovation projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the capacity to interact effectively with clients, consultants, and diverse project teams.
• Proven capability to lead, develop, and inspire multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at thriving in a dynamic project environment.
