Scientific Affairs Manager/Senior Manager

Overview:

Become a key member of an innovative team as a Scientific Affairs Specialist, where you will facilitate the transformation of scientific research into effective products, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and market readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the creation of compelling value propositions based on scientific data and ingredient effectiveness, in partnership with R&D and venture collaborators.
• Examine scientific data to develop product dossiers, technical documentation, and claims substantiation files necessary for commercialization and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, converting scientific and regulatory requirements into actionable development phases, from initial concept to market launch.
• Ensure that claims and consumer messaging are scientifically valid and meet regulatory compliance across various projects.
• Perform regulatory feasibility assessments for multiple target markets, concentrating on ingredient regulations and marketing specifications.
• Assess the viability of new product ideas and ingredients in the early stages of development, identifying potential risks and proposing routes to market.
• Serve as the expert in scientific substantiation, effectively conveying technical insights to internal teams and external partners.
• Stay updated on regulatory and scientific developments, providing guidance on new opportunities, requirements, and potential risks.
• Identify and assess natural ingredients for incorporation into new product formulations, collaborating with suppliers and research organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Cosmetic Science, Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in scientific affairs, regulatory affairs, product development, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience working with natural or botanical ingredients, effectively translating scientific evidence into commercial uses.
• In-depth knowledge of ingredient regulations and market classifications, particularly within Asian markets.
• Proven ability to communicate intricate scientific data effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Experience collaborating with external partners on product development or scientific/regulatory projects.
• Familiarity with claims substantiation and the regulatory submission process.
