SAP SD Consultant

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned SAP SD Consultant to become part of our team dedicated to supporting Asahi. This role involves direct engagement with clients on-site, focusing on both daily operations and project implementation within a vital order-to-cash framework.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business users, the broader functional team, and technical colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of sales and distribution processes, while also contributing to ongoing modernization initiatives across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

Functional Delivery and Support

Deliver functional support within the SAP SD module, addressing areas such as order management, pricing, deliveries, shipping, billing, and credit management.

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents within agreed service levels, escalating to SAP via OSS when internal root cause analysis is insufficient.

Configure the SD module to align with business requirements and create functional specifications for developments managed by the ABAP team.

Oversee master data governance related to customer master, material master, pricing conditions, and output determination.

Order-to-Cash and Integration

Facilitate end-to-end order-to-cash processes, including EDI-based order intake and IDoc processing.

Address inbound and outbound IDoc failures, pricing condition errors, and interface issues, collaborating with integration and technical teams to find solutions.

Comprehend and support integration points between SD and MM, FI/CO, LE, as well as third-party platforms.

Project and Testing Involvement

Engage in project workstreams, encompassing requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, and cutover support.

Assist during SIT and UAT phases by preparing and reviewing test scripts, executing test scenarios, and managing defect triage and retesting.

Participate in change control processes, ensuring that changes are thoroughly documented, tested, and approved prior to deployment.

Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the functional point of contact for all SD-related inquiries from business stakeholders.

Conduct workshops and requirement discussions with business users, translating their needs into effective SAP solutions.

Coordinate efforts with onshore and offshore team members across various time zones.

Documentation and Knowledge Management

Maintain up-to-date functional documentation, configuration records, and process documentation.

Facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure support continuity within the account team.

Required Skills and Experience

Essential

Over 10 years of practical SAP SD experience, encompassing configuration and support roles.

A minimum of two full lifecycle implementations, along with experience in a support or AMS setting.

In-depth configuration knowledge of sales document types, item categories, schedule lines, pricing procedures, condition techniques, copy controls, delivery, and billing configuration.

Hands-on experience with IDoc processing, EDI order flows, and troubleshooting interfaces.

Familiarity with SD integration with MM, FI/CO, LE, and EWM/TM.

Proficient in drafting clear functional specifications and collaborating effectively with ABAP developers.

Experience with incident and change management tools such as ServiceNow.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating complex issues independently.

Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English, with a confident approach to direct interaction with business stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience in the FMCG, beverage, or consumer goods industry.

Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO, or MuleSoft.

Knowledge of SPS Commerce or similar EDI platforms.

Understanding of SAP EWM/TM transportation and warehouse processes.

SAP SD certification.
