Job Description

Act as a technology architect specializing in SAP data archiving solutions, including DART ILM and Archiving, for a global organization operating under a hybrid work model. Leverage twelve to fourteen years of deep experience to design robust, compliant, and scalable data lifecycle frameworks that reduce risk, optimize storage, and enable smooth business operations in the utilities domain when applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Design end to end SAP data lifecycle and archiving architectures that meet enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and performance objectives across complex hybrid landscapes
  • Assess current SAP data growth trends and retention practices to identify optimization opportunities that lower storage costs while preserving dependable access to essential business information
  • Configure and enhance SAP DART solutions to enable compliant extraction of financial and operational data, ensuring audit readiness and consistent reporting across global entities
  • Deploy SAP ILM policies to govern data retention, residence, and destruction in accordance with corporate and regional regulations, reducing exposure from long term data storage
  • Build SAP Archiving strategies covering selection criteria, technical configuration, and retrieval processes to sustain system performance while ensuring data remains available to authorized stakeholders
  • Partner with functional consultants and business process experts, including utilities domain specialists, to convert regulatory and operational requirements into practical SAP data handling designs
  • Coordinate and review end to end solution designs across SAP modules to confirm that DART, ILM, and Archiving components integrate smoothly with existing applications, interfaces, and data warehouses
  • Produce detailed technical specifications, configuration documentation, and solution runbooks to support implementation teams and ongoing operational personnel in maintaining the designed data lifecycle solutions
  • Lead performance tuning initiatives for SAP systems affected by archiving activities, targeting improved response times, system stability, and predictable batch processing behavior
  • Plan and execute data archiving and ILM cycles, including test scenarios, validation scripts, and fallback procedures, to minimize business disruption during day shift operations in the hybrid work model
  • Provide mentorship and advanced troubleshooting support to project teams by resolving complex issues related to data extraction, retention, and retrieval, and by sharing best practices supported by extensive experience
  • Collaborate with risk and compliance stakeholders to ensure SAP data lifecycle solutions meet legal, fiscal, and industry specific requirements, especially where utilities are relevant
  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging SAP data management capabilities and proposing enhancements that strengthen organizational resilience and societal trust through secure data handling

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate twelve to fourteen years of progressive experience working with SAP solutions, with a deep focus on data archiving and information lifecycle management in large multinational environments
  • Provide strong hands on expertise configuring and operating SAP DART tools, including extraction object setup, variant design, and integration with audit and reporting processes
  • Show proven proficiency in SAP ILM, including defining retention rules, residence policies, and destruction workflows that comply with corporate governance and regulatory constraints
  • Demonstrate practical experience implementing SAP Archiving across core modules such as finance and logistics, ensuring archived data remains reliably retrievable through standard SAP mechanisms
  • Apply knowledge of utilities domain processes such as meter to cash, asset management, and regulatory reporting to design data lifecycle solutions aligned to sector specific needs when applicable
  • Prove the ability to work effectively in hybrid arrangements, coordinating with distributed teams and stakeholders through clear communication, documentation, and structured collaboration practices
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex data issues, evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend approaches that balance compliance, performance, and cost
  • Use clear and inclusive communication skills to explain complex SAP data concepts to nontechnical partners, enabling shared understanding and informed decisions across business functions
  • Exhibit familiarity with enterprise security and privacy principles to ensure SAP data archiving and ILM designs protect sensitive information and support ethical use of organizational data
  • Maintain a commitment to continuous learning in SAP technologies and data governance practices, adapting quickly to new features, tools, and regulatory expectations that influence solution design
