Oracle Finance QA Revenue Management Engineer
Job Description
We’re seeking an Oracle Revenue QA professional to drive functional quality across the end-to-end revenue recognition chain — Oracle Revenue Management (RMCS) and Revenue Accounting, the Receivables and Tax flows around them, and the upstream non-Oracle applications that feed these systems. This is the most job- and integration-heavy finance pillar, so the role requires someone who can keep the full revenue chain in view, diagnose where outcomes diverged, and quickly pinpoint where a number went wrong. Core rhythm includes quarterly patch testing, continuous automated regression, and quarter-end close support.
Key Responsibilities
• Quarterly Oracle patch testing : review and analyze release notes for impact on RMCS, Revenue Accounting, AR and Tax; define a sanity → focused → full regression scope based on revenue-recognition risk; prepare required environments and data; execute scenarios, capture evidence, and own the tracking.
• Revenue functional testing: validate revenue contracts, performance obligations, recognition and scheduling via ESS jobs; verify revenue accounting entries and GL impact; perform billing-to-revenue reconciliation; test Receivables processes including billing, receipts, adjustments, credit memos, and invoice approval; cover tax and withholding on revenue transactions.
• Integration and data validation: validate the upstream source → Fusion → RMCS → revenue accounting → GL → reporting chain; test interfaces including OIC, REST/SOAP, and SFTP; ensure Fusion-to-RMCS migration correctness; use SQL queries as reconciliation evidence.
• Automation and AI-enabled execution: maintain patch automation for revenue and AR scenarios; distinguish genuine failures from environment-related issues; support the transition to Playwright and AI-agent execution.
• Regression ownership: build and maintain regression suites across RMCS, Revenue Accounting and AR; run daily regression, triage failures, and drive closure aligned to fix-rate and burn-rate goals.
• Project and enhancement testing: execute functional, integration/E2E and regression testing for revenue projects, including reconciliation migration to Oracle Revenue Management (out-of-the-box), RMCS data-model updates and upstream application changes, and contract-compliance validation; develop test strategy, scenarios, cases and RTM.
• Defect management: log defects with reproduction steps, evidence, severity, and functional root cause analysis (RCA); follow SLAs and escalation protocols.
• Close, control and reporting: support quarter-end revenue close and reporting; perform production validation after deployment; provide SOX-style evidence and audit support; deliver status updates, test summary, and sign-off packs; collaborate with Revenue/Controllership SMEs, engineering, and Oracle consultants.
Required Skills (Must Have)
• Hands-on functional knowledge of Oracle Revenue Management (RMCS) — contracts, performance obligations, recognition, scheduling, ESS jobs — and Oracle Fusion Receivables.
• Strong revenue accounting fundamentals: recognition principles, deferred vs. recognized revenue, billing-to-revenue reconciliation, subledger-to-GL flows; working knowledge of transaction tax / WHT.
• Test scenario/case design, execution and evidence; defect lifecycle management and triage; SIT/UAT support; ERP patch and regression testing; release-note impact analysis; RTM, test summary reports and sign-off packs.
• Ability to provide clear, numbers-first status reporting; thinks like a functional consultant rather than a script-runner.
Good to Have
• Automation and data (strongly preferred): automating long-running ESS/job-dependent flows, Playwright, AI-agent test execution, and using SQL for revenue reconciliation.
• Jira / ALM; Postman / API testing; Claude-assisted test authoring.
