Occupational Therapist

Position Overview

• Oversee and implement occupational rehabilitation therapy services within the Senior Care Centre, collaborating closely with the Centre Manager and Physiotherapist
• Perform assessments for clients at the SCC during the admission process and at regular intervals
• Develop and execute effective treatment plans tailored to client needs
• Engage in multidisciplinary discussions with the SCC care team to enhance client outcomes
• Assist in the creation and ongoing evaluation of Individual Care Plans (ICP) to ensure comprehensive health and care support
• Organize and facilitate group therapy sessions and activities for day care clients
• Evaluate and adjust the therapy program schedule as needed to improve service quality
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of therapy records
• Possess knowledge of dementia-related challenges and strategies to manage clients exhibiting behavioral issues associated with dementia
• Build strong, compassionate relationships with clients' families and caregivers, demonstrating genuine care and respect for clients
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Centre Manager

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, with current registration and qualification from AHPC (Allied Health Professions Council)
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a hospital or eldercare setting, with a preference for candidates who have worked in a community environment
