Head of Security Architecture and Engineering

Responsibilities

• Oversee a regional team of security architecture professionals, fostering an environment that attracts and retains top talent.
• As a member of the Cyber Security Architecture Leadership team, serve as a trusted advisor by proactively offering security leadership and guidance to various business divisions, projects, and third-party partners.
• Design and lead the execution of digital security frameworks to be utilized in the development, construction, and maintenance of Products, Manufacturing facilities, Connected platforms and devices, IT infrastructure, and IT applications.
• Apply security best practices to business and IT-driven initiatives focused on cyber elements.
• Take an active leadership role in shaping and refining the Dyson cyber security strategy, while executing the corresponding transformation roadmap.
• Direct security engineering operations to standardize exceptional security solutions, ensuring Dyson's cyber defenses are regularly assessed and enhanced to address emerging threats.
• Guide the development of solution designs that support our extensive global cyber security transformation initiative, ensuring high-quality solutions are effectively crafted and deployed.
• Manage commercial relationships with vendors and suppliers, consistently seeking and implementing cost-effective strategies to optimize security investments (technology and support model).
• Influence a wide variety of senior stakeholders across different teams, including IT architects, developers, engineers, program managers, and business data owners. Building rapport quickly and projecting confidence in your recommendations is essential. Throughout your responsibilities, ensure that the solutions you advocate are cost-effective, adhere to industry standards, demonstrate sound security governance, and that the chosen technologies are properly implemented and secured to meet business needs.
• Establish and nurture essential relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and other third-party entities that support Dyson.
• Collaborate with our CISO and Global Director of Security Architecture to contribute effectively to our Cyber Security Governance Framework.

Professional Experience

• Highly self-driven with a positive mindset and a can-do attitude, firmly believing that 'Security as an enabler' supports business growth.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as Network & Infrastructure Security, Application Security, Cloud & Mobility Security (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, CDN), and Data/Database Security.
• Robust understanding of IT Security Controls, Identity Access Management, User Behavior Analytics, Data Loss Prevention, SIEM, and Incident Response.
• Practical familiarity with industry-standard frameworks (ISO 2700x, NIST, ITIL, etc.), best practices (CIS, SANs, OWASP, CSA), and regulations (PCI DSS, GDPR, China CSL, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of security tools, techniques, and best practices applicable within enterprise settings.
• Deep understanding of DevOps practices and integrating security into the software development lifecycle.
• Expertise in current industry security threats, challenges, and effective mitigation strategies.
• Proven experience in implementing Enterprise Security Architecture and establishing Security Engineering organizations following best practices.
• Demonstrated capability to support project teams with both high-level and low-level security consultancy, design, and delivery, encompassing a broad understanding of security considerations across leading technology solutions.
• A strong record in operational security architecture and engineering in at least two of the following areas: 1. Embedded product software, 2. Operational Technology / manufacturing, or 3. IT applications / infrastructure / Cloud.
• Ability to lead and manage a specialist, high-performing, multicultural team.
• Demonstrated experience in developing strong partnerships with senior management across complex organizations, possessing the character and conviction to make difficult decisions when necessary.
• Thorough knowledge of managing various security partners and vendors, including service management and financial cost oversight.
• Capability to assess and communicate risks, foster consensus, raise awareness, and propose well-considered security solutions to key business stakeholders.
• Able to articulate complex technical information clearly across all levels of the organization, tailored for the audience.
• Effectively develop and manage all established communication channels and relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
