GIS - Solution Architect

Job Overview

The GIS Solution Architect will spearhead the digital transformation of enterprise geospatial systems, facilitating the technical transition of intricate ArcGIS environments from on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms. This position acts as the technical expert, merging GIS spatial science with contemporary .NET/JS software engineering practices, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and adhere to enterprise security and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy resilient, cloud-native infrastructures for ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise (including Portal, Server, and Data Store) in cloud settings such as Azure and AWS.
• Direct the migration strategy for outdated GIS systems, addressing technical and security challenges to enable a smooth transition to the cloud.
• Supervise the development of enterprise-level web applications utilizing C# .NET, React, and Next.js, integrated with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Ensure all digital solutions comply with enterprise security, governance, and quality assurance protocols.
• Design and enhance Python (ArcPy, GDAL) and FME pipelines to automate geoprocessing and ETL workflows.
• Implement microservices using .NET/Python and Docker, orchestrated through DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment processes.
• Serve as the technical lead in engagements with business stakeholders, converting business needs into technical designs and overseeing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms and services (EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda).
• Extensive experience with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Monitor, ArcGIS Pro, ArcObjects, and Esri Workflow Manager (WFM).
• High-level proficiency in C# .NET Core/8, Python, RESTful APIs, and modern front-end technologies (React/Next.js).
• Practical experience with spatial data science and image processing libraries (OpenCV, RasterIO, PyTorch).
• Azure or AWS Associate-level certification, or ISTQB Foundation certification (preferred).
• OWASP certification is a plus.
