Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership & Organizational Growth
• People & Culture: Inspire, mentor, and develop a diverse, entirely remote engineering team. Cultivate a culture that emphasizes accountability, technical excellence, and psychological safety
• Organizational Structure: Design engineering teams to maximize autonomy and alignment, ensuring well-defined career progression and effective succession planning
• Collaboration with Product Management: Work closely with Product Management leadership to ensure engineering teams function as empowered, cross-functional units focused on delivering customer value rather than merely output
• Technical Strategy & Architecture
• System Scalability: Supervise the architectural integrity, security, and performance of our robust, low-latency ad tech infrastructure
• Management of Technical Debt: Balance the introduction of new features with ongoing modernization of our codebase, ensuring the optimization of infrastructure costs
• Risk Management & Compliance: Uphold stringent data privacy, compliance, and security standards throughout all engineering processes
• Delivery Efficiency & Modernization (The AI Initiative)
• Process Improvement: Establish and track essential engineering metrics (such as DORA or SPACE frameworks) to identify and eliminate development bottlenecks
• AI Integration: Drive the strategic incorporation of AI-enhanced development tools (e.g., code assistants, automated testing, documentation agents) to reduce developer workload
• Measured Impact: Measure the outcomes of modernization initiatives, demonstrating significant advancements in cycle times, deployment frequency, and overall delivery speed
