Job Description

We are seeking a Communications Manager to join our team for South East Asia, where you will play a vital role in supporting our Communications department. Your collaboration with the policy team will be essential in educating the public about our Community, showcasing the beneficial social and economic effects of our platform, and effectively communicating our partnerships with regulators and tourism organizations to establish sensible regulations for home sharers. You will also oversee initiatives that promote our consumer campaigns, enhance corporate reputation, manage the release of earnings to local media, and handle executive profiling and issues management.

Your expertise in media and complex policy landscapes will enable you to create proactive communication strategies that significantly benefit our stakeholders, including our community, policymakers, and the press. Additionally, by utilizing your knowledge of local consumer trends, insights, and cultural moments, you will create compelling campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and executing effective cross-functional campaigns will be vital for your success in this role.

You will engage directly with journalists, manage media inquiries, and implement communication plans. We are looking for a dedicated, articulate, and savvy communicator who can thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the cross-functional team to devise comprehensive consumer, corporate, and policy communication strategies that foster positive awareness and favorability.
  • Take charge of executing intricate campaigns aimed at generating proactive positive outcomes and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Produce various written materials, including story pitches, press releases, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, and speeches.
  • Oversee agency partners across all markets.
  • Prepare briefings for media interviews and public speaking opportunities.
  • Formulate influencer engagement strategies.
  • Understand the media landscape and cultivate relationships with key journalists.
  • Manage a dynamic press office environment.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the consumer communications manager and local policy team, as well as international policy and communications teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in consumer, corporate, and/or policy communications, either within a communications agency or in-house.
  • Exceptional writing capabilities along with strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Thai or Bahasa is advantageous but not mandatory, given the regional focus.
  • Established media relations experience with a solid network of contacts.
  • Ability to initiate, manage, and execute proactive press projects, including research/data-driven stories, campaigns, press events, and press trips.
  • Experience navigating complex regulatory issues within a political context.
  • Demonstrated capability to work on projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience across South East Asia is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Maintain enthusiasm and composure in high-pressure situations.
  • A genuine passion for our mission and the company’s goals.
  • Willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice.
