Cloud Platform Engineer – Innovation Sandbox

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer to architect, develop, and manage secure and scalable cloud-based sandbox environments that foster innovation, experimentation, and proof-of-concept projects.

This position integrates AWS Cloud, software engineering, DevOps practices, automation, security measures, and platform engineering, with an emphasis on facilitating self-service functionalities while ensuring adherence to cloud governance, security standards, and operational protocols.

The successful candidate will possess substantial hands-on experience with AWS, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript, as well as practical expertise in cloud operations, automation, APIs, CI/CD processes, and infrastructure-as-code.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and maintain AWS-based innovation sandbox and cloud platform environments.
• Provision, configure, and oversee cloud infrastructure, services, networking, and access controls.
• Create automation and reusable tools utilizing Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, services, and cloud solutions to facilitate self-service functionalities.
• Establish and uphold CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure automation.
• Produce reusable frameworks, playbooks, templates, and reference architectures for innovation and engineering teams.
• Provide support for Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads as necessary.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code utilizing Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Oversee IAM, authentication, access controls, and cloud security measures.
• Monitor cloud resources, utilization, performance, and operational health; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Assist with cloud cost monitoring, resource optimization, billing validation, and chargeback processes.
• Establish and maintain sandbox governance, security, compliance, and operational procedures.
• Facilitate self-service onboarding and provisioning for development and innovation teams.
• Troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, integrations, and deployments.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, security, infrastructure, and innovation teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Ensure sandbox environments comply with relevant cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory, and governance standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–6+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and AWS infrastructure/services.
• Proficient programming skills in Python.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resource management.
• Strong grasp of DevOps principles, CI/CD, and automation.
• Experience in developing and integrating REST APIs and system integrations.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of:
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Terraform
• Ansible
• Git
• CI/CD tools
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, security protocols, networking, and cloud governance.
• Experience with cloud resource utilization, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certification is highly desirable, such as:
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• AWS Certified Developer
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Experience with Azure or GCP is a plus.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-oriented environments.
• Experience in creating self-service cloud platforms or developer platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud governance, FinOps, or chargeback models.
• Experience with security automation and policy enforcement.

Preference will be given to Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents, and Malaysian Nationals.
