Civil Structural Engineer

MPS Civil & Structural Engineer:

Conduct civil and structural design calculations while addressing the challenges associated with these designs. Stay updated with industry codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines. Ensure project expectations are met or exceeded within the designated timelines and budget constraints. Collaborate effectively with intra- and inter-disciplinary teams, project stakeholders, and vendors to deliver necessary outcomes in accordance with project plans and requirements.

Roles And Responsibilities:

Understand and review client specifications during the proposal stage, identifying and raising any clarifications or deviations from Company standards.

• Analyze topographical survey maps and soil investigation reports to extract relevant design inputs. Prepare technical requisitions for these studies during project execution and follow up with vendors.

• Develop or review the civil and structural design basis along with project specifications.

• Prepare, review, and approve civil and structural Material Take-offs (MTOs) during proposal and project execution phases.

• Assist the construction team in conducting technical bid analyses of construction companies.

• Create technical requisitions and perform technical bid analyses for structural fabrication.

• Execute civil and structural analysis, calculations, design reports, and connection design reports while reviewing and checking drawings.

• Specify materials for civil and structural projects, review fireproofing specifications, and define painting and coating schemes for structural elements.

• Lead and mentor junior civil and structural engineers/designers in the development of engineering deliverables.

• Provide input and support to other disciplines throughout project execution.

• Engage in engineering meetings as required.

• Ensure the timely delivery of civil and structural engineering documents according to project schedules.

• Track engineering hours specific to the civil and structural discipline during project execution.

• Participate in 3D model interdisciplinary reviews, addressing any clashes within the discipline.

• Coordinate, review, comment on, and approve outsourced civil and structural engineering design deliverables, ensuring the latest vendor documentation is utilized for these outputs.

• Maintain cutting-edge knowledge in civil and structural engineering in alignment with applicable codes and standards.

• Actively support and uphold the integrity of the company and facility HSSE program, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

• Provide engineering and technical support to production facilities as required by operations.

• Possess knowledge of relevant industry standards such as ACI, AISC, BS, EURO, and other international detailing practices.

• Effectively implement quality systems, procedures, change management, and revision control.

• Demonstrate proficiency in commercial engineering design software, including STAAD, MAT 3D, Foundation 3D, SAP 2000, RAM Connection, and SACS.

Key Indicators:

Civil and Structural Actual Cost vs Budget (including approved variation orders)

• Civil and Structural resource planning and utilization

• Timely delivery of Civil and Structural Engineering deliverables (OTD)

• Civil and Structural contractual non-conformance reports (NCRs)

• Civil and Structural Engineering design change notification (EDNC) entries and Management of Change (MOCs)

• Service Quality (SQ's)

Experience:

• A minimum of 6 years of industry experience

• Prior experience in onshore foundation engineering, management of construction suppliers, and site engineering support.

• Proficiency in static and dynamic analysis for equipment foundation design.

• Experience in brownfield project design.

• Expertise in precast concrete and modularized steel structure design.

• Design experience in RCC buildings, steel structures, shelters, and pipe rack structures.

• Knowledge of underground drainage, cable trench, and road layout and design.

• Experience in skid structure design and connection design.

Expertise:

• Strong background in Facilities (Onshore) Engineering and Construction with a focus on civil and structural design engineering.

• Experience in static and dynamic analysis for equipment foundation design.

• Understanding of interdisciplinary hardware requirements.
