Job Description
- Offer strategic legal counsel to senior management on commercial, regulatory, and corporate issues
- Evaluate, negotiate, and provide advice on contracts, commercial agreements, and business dealings
- Lead the creation and enhancement of legal, compliance, and governance frameworks
- Initiate compliance awareness programs, investigations, training, and risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with regional and global partners to ensure uniform application of policies and standards
- Establish procedures to identify, evaluate, and monitor legal, regulatory, and compliance risks
- Supervise corporate governance, internal controls, audits, and reporting activities while fostering a robust culture of integrity and accountability
The Successful Applicant
An ideal Chief Legal & Compliance Officer will possess:
- A degree in a relevant field with extensive experience in legal, compliance, corporate governance, or related areas
- A minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other highly regulated sectors
- A strong grasp of corporate legal matters, regulatory obligations, and risk management principles
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing compliance frameworks, policies, and governance processes
- A proven history of advising senior executives on intricate legal and compliance issues
- Experience working with regional or international stakeholders within a matrix organization
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities with a capacity to influence at all organizational levels
- A proven ability to reconcile commercial goals with regulatory and ethical considerations
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and sound business judgment
