Business IT Solution Analyst

The Business IT Solution Analyst role is an integral part of the Market Risk systems program, focusing on key areas such as VaR, IRC calculations, daily PnL production and attribution, risk consolidation, regulatory reporting, and Prudent Valuation adjustments. This ensures that the firm's trading book exposures are assessed conservatively and remain compliant with relevant capital and valuation standards.

Main Responsibilities

Functional Knowledge & Analysis

• Develop and maintain comprehensive functional knowledge of Market Risk applications
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk Managers, Quantitative Analysts, and IT stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document business requirements
• Assess the functional implications of changes in partnership with the technical lead, considering system and architectural limitations
• Draft, present, and document functional specifications and user stories in JIRA, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory mandates
• Assist the development team with functional issues while keeping functional documentation current
• Exhibit a strong understanding of risk consolidation processes, regulatory reporting protocols, and market data management within a banking context

Functional Testing

• Establish and manage the testing strategy in collaboration with the Application Manager
• Execute continuous testing in development settings, create functional unit and system test cases, and maintain testing artifacts throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate UAT prioritization with the Project Manager and aid production deployments with post-deployment validation checks

Application Support - Functional Incidents

• Deliver Level 2 functional support for incidents escalated from Level 1
• Reproduce, analyze, and investigate functional issues related to risk computations and market data
• Address functional challenges in coordination with developers and conduct ad hoc simulations and impact analyses for Front Office personnel

Qualifications and Profile

• Master's or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst in the Market Risk sector of banking, with hands-on knowledge of VaR, IRC, PnL calculations, risk consolidation, regulatory reporting, and Prudent Valuation
• Robust technical proficiency in data models and SQL, capable of performing ad hoc data analyses and impact simulations for Front Office teams
• Demonstrated experience as the functional liaison among Front Office, Risk Managers, Quantitative Analysts, and IT stakeholders, effectively bridging onshore business lines with offshore technical teams
• Extensive background in requirements gathering, creating detailed functional specifications and user stories in JIRA, and communicating functional changes to development teams in accordance with FRTB, Basel III/IV, and CRR/EBA regulations
• Comprehensive experience in functional testing and validation, which includes writing unit test cases, maintaining testing artifacts, coordinating UAT, and performing post-deployment checks to uphold the integrity of risk outputs
• Proven experience in Level 2 application support, focusing on issue reproduction, root cause analysis, and resolution of calculation and data discrepancies in collaboration with development teams
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools (for example, GitHub Copilot, generative AI assistants) to improve productivity and problem-solving
• In-depth understanding of AI/ML principles, including prompt engineering, model limitations, and best practices for effective human-AI collaboration
• Experience in evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, and alignment with business needs
• Capability to identify and implement opportunities for AI integration and workflow automation
