Backend Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, focusing on the creation and enhancement of scalable backend services. In this role, you will engage with both existing and new services, partnering with fellow engineers to tackle technical challenges, boost system performance, and develop dependable solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in engineering principles, be eager to learn new technologies, and actively utilize contemporary AI development tools to enhance productivity and address problems effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, create, and uphold scalable backend services and APIs.
• Develop and improve applications, primarily utilizing Java.
• Support and develop microservices along with distributed systems.
• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for managing containerized applications and deployments.
• Detect and resolve issues related to application performance and scalability.
• Integrate backend applications with various internal and external services.
• Engage in technical design discussions, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, debugging, learning, and overall engineering productivity.
• Work closely with engineers and stakeholders across the broader team.

Essential Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, including data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills.
• Practical experience in backend development using Java.
• Experience with developing microservices or distributed backend applications.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of backend application performance, scalability, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Willingness to adopt and utilize AI coding and development tools within the engineering processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
• Ability to independently learn new technologies and tackle unfamiliar technical issues.
