Job Description

• Collaborate with business teams throughout APAC to deliver legally sound, commercially focused advice and risk management support.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse array of commercial agreements, including those related to supply, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, R&D, and customer contracts.
• Assist finance and treasury teams with financing arrangements, guarantees, security documentation, and associated transactions.
• Provide counsel on regulatory issues, product compliance, consumer protection, advertising, and labeling matters.
• Oversee disputes, investigations, and potential claims while liaising with external legal advisors.
• Deliver legal support for regional customer engagements, business projects, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes and inform stakeholders about their implications for business operations and compliance requirements.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal candidate for the Legal Counsel role will possess:

• A qualified lawyer holding an LLB, JD, or an equivalent legal qualification.
• A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience from a reputable law firm and/or a multinational corporation.
• Extensive experience in commercial contracting, with knowledge of banking and finance matters.
• Experience in supporting complex cross-border transactions and regional business activities.
• A background in manufacturing, consumer products, food ingredients, agriculture, or related sectors is preferred.
• The ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders in a matrixed international environment.
• Strong commercial insight to offer practical, business-oriented legal counsel.
• A high level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
