We are in search of a Senior Data Scientist to take the lead in developing data solutions that will support essential everyday business decisions.
As a Data Scientist in the Decision Science team, you will leverage analytics, experimentation, and machine learning algorithms to enhance MoneyLion's offerings through data-informed decisions. You will work closely with product teams, delivering measurable business outcomes by deploying or improving solutions that address fraud prevention, credit underwriting, and user experience enhancements, while providing compelling evidence of their efficacy. This role involves designing, developing, validating, executing, and monitoring experiments aligned with business objectives aimed at increasing revenue and decreasing operational costs. You will collaborate with Product, Data Engineering, and Machine Learning teams, embracing innovative approaches to augment analytics with AI, rapidly iterate through configurable experiments, track and assess key developments, and deeply understand business needs to create valuable AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses to comprehend user interactions with our products and identify improvement opportunities
- Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner
- Automate the detection of anomalies and investigate their underlying causes
- Lead, design, and execute experiments to address complex data and business challenges
- Identify trends and opportunities in data to outline product roadmaps
- Develop business metrics, set objective targets, and suggest methods to measure success
- Collaborate with engineers to enhance the data collection process
- Engage with product stakeholders to promote and spearhead data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Implement, develop, or refine algorithms to drive business value
- Explore, adopt, and integrate advanced techniques from research to boost the performance of existing solutions
- Mentor, coach, and guide team members towards excellence in their deliverables
About You
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in mentoring, training, recruiting, onboarding, managing, or leading a team is a plus
- Possess a strong product sense and a passion for delivering business value
- A solid background in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science
- Hands-on experience in machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling is essential
- In-depth knowledge of probability, statistics, distributions, and analytical methods
- Proven ability to solve problems using both standard methods and innovative perspectives
- Highly skilled in programming languages such as Python and SQL
- An understanding of data structures, data modeling, software architecture, and machine learning algorithms is advantageous
- Proficient in data visualization techniques
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- Highly self-motivated and results-oriented
