OCI Cloud Engineer

The OCI Cloud Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, deployment, and ongoing management of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure utilizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This position demands extensive hands-on expertise in OCI networking, compute, storage, security, automation, and governance frameworks. The engineer will work in close partnership with Security, Application Development, and Architecture teams to implement cloud solutions that adhere to enterprise standards and compliance mandates.

Infrastructure & Deployment

OCI Core Services: Oversee the deployment and management of Compute, Block Storage, Object Storage, Autonomous Database, Load Balancers, and Functions.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Leverage Terraform and OCI Resource Manager to automate provisioning, ensuring deployments are consistent and repeatable.

CI/CD Orchestration: Develop and implement pipelines using OCI DevOps, Bamboo, BitBucket, and Terraform Cloud.

Cloud Optimization: Enhance cost efficiency through resource right-sizing, autoscaling, and performance optimization.

Collaboration & Governance

Architecture Alignment: Collaborate with Security and Application Development teams to craft resilient and well-architected OCI solutions.

Technical Advocacy: Create documentation for architectures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and incident Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports; offer insights on OCI best practices.

Security Enforcement: Apply governance frameworks such as OCI Landing Zone, Security Zones, and Cloud Guard.

Networking (OCI)

Hybrid Connectivity: Possess hands-on experience with OCI FastConnect, IPSec VPN, DRG, cross-tenancy routing, and multi-region connectivity.

OCI Networking Stack: Proficient in VCN, Subnets, DRG, Service Gateways, Load Balancers, NSGs, Security Lists, and OCI Network Firewall. Core Fundamentals: Deep understanding of IPv4, BGP, routing policies, and next-generation firewalls.

DevOps & Programming

IaC Tools: Expert-level knowledge in Terraform and OCI Resource Manager.

Automation: Strong proficiency in Python for cloud automation and OCI SDK/CLI scripting. CI/CD: Familiarity with OCI DevOps (Code Repo, Build Pipelines, Deployment Pipelines), Bamboo, and Terraform Cloud.

Security & Governance

IAM & Identity Domains: Extensive knowledge of Identity Domains, IAM Policies, Compartments, and Access Governance.

Logging & Monitoring: Experience with OCI Logging, Audit, Events, Cloud Guard, and Monitoring/Alarms. DNS Management: Competence in OCI DNS for both public and private zones.

Non-Technical Requirements

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate OCI infrastructure challenges.

Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities. Capability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
