Job Summary
Act as a technology architect specializing in SAP data archiving solutions, including DART ILM and Archiving, for a global organization operating under a hybrid work model. Leverage twelve to fourteen years of experience to create compliant, scalable data lifecycle frameworks that lower risk, optimize storage, and enable reliable business operations in the utilities domain when applicable.
Responsibilities
- Design end to end SAP data lifecycle and archiving architectures that meet enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and performance targets for complex hybrid landscapes
- Assess current SAP data growth trends and retention practices to uncover optimization opportunities that reduce storage costs while preserving dependable access to essential business information
- Configure and enhance SAP DART solutions to enable compliant extraction of financial and operational data, ensuring audit readiness and consistent reporting across global entities
- Deploy SAP ILM policies to control data retention periods, residence, and destruction in alignment with corporate and regional regulations, helping minimize risk from long term data storage
- Build SAP Archiving strategies that cover selection criteria, technical configuration, and retrieval procedures to sustain system performance while ensuring archived data remains available to authorized stakeholders
- Partner with functional consultants and business process specialists, including utilities domain experts, to convert regulatory and operational requirements into practical SAP data handling designs
- Coordinate and review solution designs across SAP modules to ensure DART, ILM, and Archiving components integrate smoothly with existing application interfaces and data warehouses
- Produce detailed technical specifications, configuration documentation, and solution runbooks that support implementation teams and ongoing operations for the designed data lifecycle solutions
- Lead performance tuning activities for SAP systems affected by archiving operations, with emphasis on improving response time, ensuring system stability, and enabling predictable batch processing
- Plan and execute data archiving and ILM cycles, including test scenarios, validation scripts, and fallback procedures to reduce business disruption during day shift operations in the hybrid work model
- Provide mentorship and advanced troubleshooting support to project teams by resolving complex issues involving data extraction, retention, and retrieval, and by sharing best practices based on extensive experience
- Work with risk and compliance stakeholders to confirm that SAP data lifecycle solutions meet applicable legal, fiscal, and industry specific requirements, particularly when relevant to utilities
- Support continuous improvement by evaluating emerging SAP data management capabilities and recommending enhancements that strengthen organizational resilience and public trust in secure data handling
Qualifications
- Bring twelve to fourteen years of progressive experience delivering SAP solutions, with a strong focus on data archiving and information lifecycle management within large multinational environments
- Demonstrate hands on expertise configuring and operating SAP DART tools, including extraction object setup, variant design, and integration with audit and reporting processes
- Show proven proficiency in SAP ILM, including the creation of retention rules, residence policies, and destruction workflows aligned to corporate governance and regulatory requirements
- Provide practical experience implementing SAP Archiving across key modules such as finance and logistics, ensuring archived data remains consistently retrievable using standard SAP capabilities
- Apply knowledge of utilities domain processes—such as meter to cash, asset management, and regulatory reporting—to design data lifecycle solutions that reflect sector specific needs when present
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in hybrid environments by coordinating with distributed teams and stakeholders through clear communication, documentation, and structured collaboration practices
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex data issues, model alternative options, and recommend solutions that balance compliance, performance, and cost
- Use clear and inclusive communication skills to convey complex SAP data concepts to nontechnical stakeholders, promoting shared understanding and better informed decision making across business functions
- Show familiarity with enterprise security and privacy principles, ensuring that SAP data archiving and ILM designs support the protection of sensitive information and ethical use of organizational data
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning in SAP technologies and data governance practices, adapting quickly to new features, tools, and regulatory expectations that affect solution design
