Job Description

Job Summary

Act as a technology architect focused on SAP data archiving solutions, including DART ILM and Archiving, for a global organization operating under a hybrid work model. Leverage 12 to 14 years of experience to design robust, compliant, and scalable data lifecycle frameworks that minimize risk, optimize storage, and enable reliable day-to-day business operations in the utilities domain when applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end SAP data lifecycle and archiving architectures that meet enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and performance goals across complex hybrid landscapes
  • Assess current SAP data growth trends and retention practices to uncover optimization opportunities that lower storage costs while preserving dependable access to critical business information
  • Configure and improve SAP DART capabilities to enable compliant extraction of financial and operational data, ensuring audit readiness and consistent reporting across global entities
  • Set up SAP ILM policies governing data retention, residence, and destruction in accordance with corporate and regional regulations to reduce risk linked to long-term data storage
  • Build SAP Archiving approaches that cover selection criteria, technical configuration, and retrieval processes to sustain system performance while keeping data available to authorized stakeholders
  • Partner with functional consultants and business process specialists, including utilities domain experts, to convert regulatory and operational requirements into practical SAP data handling designs
  • Coordinate and review end-to-end solution designs across SAP modules to ensure smooth integration of DART, ILM, and archiving components with existing applications, interfaces, and data warehouses
  • Create detailed technical specifications, configuration documentation, and solution runbooks to support implementation teams and ongoing support personnel in operating and maintaining the designed data lifecycle solutions
  • Lead performance tuning initiatives for SAP environments affected by archiving activities, with emphasis on improving response times, ensuring system stability, and supporting consistent batch processing
  • Plan and carry out data archiving and ILM cycles, including test scenarios, validation scripts, and fallback procedures, to reduce the chance of business disruption during day shift operations in the hybrid work model
  • Provide mentorship and advanced troubleshooting support to project teams by resolving complex challenges involving data extraction, retention, and retrieval, and by sharing best practices supported by extensive experience
  • Work with risk and compliance stakeholders to confirm that SAP data lifecycle solutions satisfy legal, fiscal, and industry-specific requirements, especially where utilities regulations apply
  • Support continuous improvement by evaluating emerging SAP data management capabilities and recommending enhancements that strengthen organizational resilience and trust in secure data handling

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate 12 to 14 years of progressive experience delivering SAP solutions, with a strong focus on data archiving and information lifecycle management in large multinational environments
  • Provide strong hands-on experience configuring and operating SAP DART tools, including setup of extraction objects, variant design, and integration with audit and reporting processes
  • Demonstrate proven expertise in SAP ILM, including creation of retention rules, residence policies, and destruction workflows aligned with corporate governance and regulatory limitations
  • Show practical experience implementing SAP Archiving across major modules such as finance and logistics, ensuring archived data remains consistently retrievable using standard SAP mechanisms
  • Apply knowledge of utilities domain processes such as meter to cash, asset management, and regulatory reporting to design data lifecycle solutions reflecting sector-specific needs when applicable
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in hybrid work settings, coordinating with remote teams and stakeholders through clear communication, documentation, and structured collaboration routines
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues, consider alternative approaches, and recommend solutions that balance compliance, performance, and cost
  • Use clear and inclusive communication skills to explain complex SAP data concepts to non-technical stakeholders, enabling shared understanding and informed decisions across business functions
  • Demonstrate familiarity with enterprise security and privacy principles, ensuring that archiving and ILM designs support protection of sensitive information and ethical use of organizational data
  • Show commitment to continuous learning in SAP technologies and data governance practices, adapting quickly to new features, tools, and regulatory expectations that affect solution design
