Job Summary

Senior Developer role with an MNC delivering SAP Datasphere solutions across Cheminformatics and Bioinformatics. The selected professional will design and optimize data models, dataflows, and replication flows to enable scientific analytics in a hybrid work setup. This position requires close partnership with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure enterprise data products.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement resilient SAP Datasphere replication flows to maintain accurate, timely synchronization of scientific and enterprise data across multiple source systems and target layers
• Develop and optimize SAP Datasphere dataflows that transform raw laboratory and research inputs into curated datasets for downstream analytics and reporting
• Create scalable SAP Datasphere data models for complex Cheminformatics and Bioinformatics scenarios, preserving performance consistency and end-to-end traceability
• Configure and refine data pipelines that bring together experimental results, chemical structures, biological sequences, and external reference data into unified, domain-specific data assets
• Work with Cheminformatics and Bioinformatics domain specialists to convert scientific needs into technical data models and transformation logic aligned with best practices
• Evaluate existing data integration solutions to uncover performance bottlenecks and implement improvements that lower processing time and strengthen reliability
• Apply stringent data validation and quality checks inside SAP Datasphere flows so scientific and operational stakeholders can rely on delivered data accuracy
• Partner with analytics and application teams to deliver structured data marts and views supporting advanced modelling dashboards and scientific decision support capabilities
• Document data architectures, data lineage, and transformation logic in a clear, reusable format to improve maintainability, enable knowledge sharing, and support onboarding of new team members
• Use secure data handling practices to safeguard sensitive research data and regulatory-relevant information while still enabling effective collaboration across global teams
• Troubleshoot problems across data replication, dataflows, and data models through systematic root cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions
• Participate in continuous improvement by assessing new SAP Datasphere capabilities and recommending incremental enhancements that increase automation and reduce manual effort
• Support hybrid collaboration by taking part in virtual ceremonies and on-site workshops to maintain alignment with project timelines, quality expectations, and stakeholder outcomes

Qualifications

• Professional experience in designing SAP Datasphere replication flows, with emphasis on reliability monitoring and operational readiness for enterprise-scale data environments
• Strong capability in building SAP Datasphere dataflows, including complex transformations, joins, aggregations, and reusable components that support modular designs
• Hands-on experience in SAP Datasphere data modelling, including relational models, semantic layers, star schemas, and object reuse for analytical and scientific workloads
• Practical knowledge of Cheminformatics, including managing molecular descriptor datasets, compound libraries, assay results, and related metadata within structured data platforms
• Experience with Bioinformatics scenarios such as sequence data annotations, experimental results integration, and mapping to standardized taxonomies in enterprise systems
• Sound understanding of SQL, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional modelling to create high-performing, maintainable datasets for reporting and advanced analytics solutions
• Experience with data quality management, including profiling and cleansing approaches, to ensure scientific and business users receive consistent, complete, and validated information
• Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., scientists, analysts, and product teams) to clarify requirements, align priorities, and manage expectations
• Capacity to quickly learn new tools and processes in SAP cloud environments while adhering to organizational standards for coding, documentation, testing, and deployment
• Strong problem-solving skills, including independently analyzing complex data issues, identifying options, and implementing solutions within agreed timelines and quality thresholds
• Awareness of regulatory and compliance considerations for scientific data and the ability to incorporate these constraints into data retention and access control strategies
• Contribute to team success through participation in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and process retrospectives that drive continuous improvement in data development practices

Certifications Required

SAP Certified Application Associate SAP Datasphere or equivalent enterprise data warehousing certification preferred
