We are looking for a seasoned OpenVMS / HPE NonStop (Tandem) System Administrator to become a part of our IT team in India. The perfect candidate will possess a robust experience in the administration and upkeep of OpenVMS and HPE NonStop systems, guaranteeing the peak performance and dependability of our essential business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain OpenVMS and HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Conduct system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor system performance and resolve issues as they occur.
• Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware components of the system.
• Implement security protocols to protect systems and data integrity.
• Document system settings, processes, and procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
• Work in collaboration with other IT teams to facilitate the integration and support of applications on OpenVMS and NonStop platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 12-18 years of experience in managing OpenVMS and HPE NonStop systems.
• In-depth knowledge of system architecture, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as DCL, Perl, or Shell scripting for automation of tasks.
• Expertise in system monitoring tools and performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with database management systems and data backup strategies for NonStop environments.
• Competence in troubleshooting hardware and software challenges efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols and configurations pertinent to OpenVMS and NonStop systems.
• Outstanding communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate in a team-oriented setting.
