Job Description
Job Title: Network L2 Operations & SME
Location: Seremban/KL, Malaysia
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
ITIL process knowledge and foundation certified

Automation exposure and transformation mindset and adoptability for any automation initiatives

Location: Seremban/KL, Malaysia
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end L2 network operations across incident, problem, and change management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for major incidents and critical outages
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs while driving service improvement initiatives
- Lead daily operations calls, perform reviews, and maintain reporting governance
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and execute preventive actions for key outages
- Coordinate with L1, L3, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Manage team workload, including prioritization and allocation of tasks
- Ensure process compliance using ITIL practices and support audit readiness
- Drive automation efforts, documentation updates, and knowledge management
- Provide stakeholder communication and timely status reporting
- Offer expert support for routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and related systems
- Troubleshoot complex data network issues and identify performance bottlenecks
- Support design validation and implementation for network changes
- Govern periodic managed device health check activities
- Ensure change implementation maintains SoW-stated IOS and device compliance versions
- Perform proactive risk management with potential mitigations
- Conduct extensive OEM coordination to support managed product life cycle management
- Work on LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and firewall coordination together with SME counterparts in the team
- Conduct deep-dive RCA for recurring incidents and carry out top-talker analysis
- Focus on outcomes, including reducing repeat incident occurrence
- Implement monitoring noise reduction
- Enable effective event correlation and logic configuration in collaboration with the tools team
- Review configurations to ensure network optimization and stability
- Support capacity planning and network enhancements aligned to business and stakeholder requirements
- Mentor L1 teams with technical guidance
- Review SOPs, knowledge articles, and documentation to enable seamless team operations
- Perform periodic inventory reviews and coordinate with the relevant team on CMDB activities
- Act as an active participant with the business and customer BCP team, including periodic BCP and DR drill execution and documentation of outcomes
- Demonstrate the experience and flexibility to support on-call duties and critical outage handling
