Network & Security Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network & Security Engineer to oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot our enterprise network and security systems. This role will encompass Cisco networking, routing and switching, firewall management, VPN implementation, network security measures, and incident response, all aimed at ensuring optimal network availability and reliability.

Core Duties

• Oversee, monitor, and resolve issues within the enterprise network and security infrastructure.
• Configure and provide support for Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN configurations.
• Assist with routing and switching technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLAN, and STP.
• Track network performance, availability, and capacity metrics.
• Establish network security protocols, access controls, and hardening strategies.
• Investigate and address network and security-related incidents.
• Conduct network upgrades, apply patches, implement configuration changes, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot issues related to LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, and VPN.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support network operations and resolve issues.

Essential Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Enterprise Networking and Network Security.
• Practical experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Solid understanding of Routing & Switching – BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP.
• Familiarity with Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and fundamental network security principles.
• Robust troubleshooting capabilities across LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and security tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• CCNP certification is preferred or may be mandatory based on project specifications.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point firewall technologies.
• Certifications such as CCNA, PCNSE, NSE, Security+ or other relevant qualifications.
• Familiarity with Python, network automation, or automation tools.

Educational Background

A Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline.
